 LOCAL ROYAL RANGER NEWS

With  summer officially here, we’re averaging 6 to 8 boys.  We are gearing up for some pow wows and other up-coming events.  The guys really like the FAC remodel, so  a special thanks for those that made it happen.

George invited some of the Rangers to his house to shoot with the men on “Men’s Night Out”.  It’s very beneficial for these boys to be around Godly men.  The world will tell them something different if we don’t show them God’s love.

“For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.”       Proverbs 5:21

Reminding Pillars

Read Zephaniah 1:1 through 3:20

Published: Jul 20, 2017

The six Ionic pillars that stand on the campus of the University of Missouri at Columbia are all that remain of the Academic Hall that burned down in 1892. Some at that time wanted to remove the columns, but instead they were preserved to serve as reminder of the university’s history. Today they tower over the campus as a symbol of a prestigious institution.

Flocks and herds will lie down there, creatures of every kind. The desert owl and the screech owl will roost on her columns (Zephaniah 2:14).

In the prophet’s image, the pillars of the devastated city of Nineveh were to become a roost for owls. The ruins would be the residence of desert wildlife and wandering flocks. They were to serve as reminders of God’s discipline on a once great city.

Sometimes God has to use discipline when we deviate from His will. But it is designed to encourage us to confess and reconnect with Him. It is also a reminder that, despite our failures, God is always ready to forgive and restore us.

Thought for Today: How have failures in your life encouraged you to seek forgiveness and restoration?

Quicklook: Zephaniah 2:13–15
