We want to thank the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Co for their quick help during the fire in our steeple/tower area.  They helped keep the fire from spreading and destroying the whole building.  They were on the scene in 1 minute. Thanks also to all those on standby who were ready to step in and help if needed.

God was behind the scenes making things happen at the right time and preventing the fire from being worse than it was.

Answered Prayer

Read 2 Chronicles 7:1 through 9:31

Solomon was a man of prayer, deep faith, and renowned wisdom. During the twenty years of the temple and palace construction (2 Chronicles 8:1), he constantly asked God to make the temple His dwelling place. When the work was completed, God answered:

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.... If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2Chronicles 7:12,14).

It seems God took a long time to respond to Solomon’s prayer. How often do we want immediate answers or wonder if God has heard us? God made it clear He would answer prayer if people humble themselves before Him and turn away from their sins. Our broken world needs prayer more than ever. Let us humble ourselves, turn from our sins, ask for forgiveness, and believe God will answer.

Challenge for Today: Kneel humbly before God and ask Him to bless you and heal our world.
